Surprise surprise.....

Shesha and Nikki have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of their second child. Anjali, their beautiful and vivacious firstborn, has been so patient in waiting to find out if she is going to have a little brother or a little sister.

Of course they couldn't just send a text message or make a phone call. What would be the fun in that? So we decided to do a little stylized shoot to tell the world which gender the next Marvin would be.

And today, ladies and gentlemen, the Marvin family is proud to announce.....

Thank you so much, Marvins, for letting me be a part of this big announcement- can't wait to meet the little man!!!

That glow. {Orange County Maternity Photography}

You know how they say pregnant women have a "glow"? Yeah, I didn't have that. I was uncomfortable, sick, tired, and all around yuck. With all three.

Dana, on the other hand, looks like a Roman goddess.

She's calm, serene, and she really does glow. It's like love is radiating from her, from the inside out. I hope I did her beauty justice in these images.

Love you, Dana- can't wait to see that little love bug you're growing in there.

Brand New Babies!

If you or anyone you know is expecting a new little addition, check out our Baby Steps Program.  It captures the entire first year of Baby's life, including a maternity session with Mama! (You know, so the new parents can put the camera away and get some sleep...)

The bump

I was so honored when Mel B booked me to shoot her maternity photos.  This is her third child, and her third BOY.  Just take a second and think about that.  She is so outnumbered, it's not even funny.  Being the only estrogen representative in the house, she decided she wanted to document this time in their lives, as she really has no photos of herself while pregnant with her other two (side note- I just realized after this shoot that I have no preggo photos of myself either!).  So, I was determined to make this shoot as intimate, special, and artistic as possible.  I want her to really love these.  The day of the session, despite multiple days of sunshine preceding it, was windy and cold!  Well, California cold, anyway.  She was such a trooper and braved the wind, even baring her belly (the goosebumps were airbrushed out!).

Being pregnant is such a weird time, especially when you're expecting number three.  Your days get overwhelmed with caring for the other two, and you almost forget most days that your belly is this large, that there's a person in there.  So I really love these photos, if for nothing else than the fact that they're a forced moment of pushing the 'pause' button during a really special time for her.
