Anjali. Our little angel.

Well, you saw the photos from the Marvin family gender reveal, which we shot at the incredible Heritage Museum of Orange County. But Miss Anjali had so many great shots on her own, that I figured this little performer deserved her own post. So here you go- Enjoy! (and I dare you to not smile while viewing.)

Surprise surprise.....

Shesha and Nikki have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of their second child. Anjali, their beautiful and vivacious firstborn, has been so patient in waiting to find out if she is going to have a little brother or a little sister.

Of course they couldn't just send a text message or make a phone call. What would be the fun in that? So we decided to do a little stylized shoot to tell the world which gender the next Marvin would be.

And today, ladies and gentlemen, the Marvin family is proud to announce.....

Thank you so much, Marvins, for letting me be a part of this big announcement- can't wait to meet the little man!!!

Two left feet?

So many of my wedding couples are nervous about their first dance. Why? A couple of reasons, actually. Most people don't dance socially anymore, so they tend to feel awkward and self-conscious on the dance floor. Also, the spotlight is on you and you alone! How can one alleviate the inevitable nerves that come with this pressure-filled moment? With dance lessons at Atomic Ballroom, of course!

Atomic Ballroom offers not only private classes at two different locations to help you and your honey become the next Fred and Ginger, but from time to time they even offer Wedding Dance Workshops- a crash course ensuring you start your married life off on the right foot (instead of two left ones...).

For a limited time, we are offering a stellar partnership deal.

Any couple who books any wedding photography package with Intuitive Images AND takes the Wedding Workshop at Atomic, will receive a FREE 16x20 gallery wrap canvas, AND the high resolution images from your big day! That's a $450 value, PLUS you're making sure you glide across that dance floor like pros!

To take advantage of this offer, email stephanie@intuitiveimagesphotography.com for wedding photography package pricing, and go sign up for March 24th's wedding dance workshop HERE

Pause.

The other day when taking my own kiddos out for some photos (the first time I've ever actually done that with my own three) I asked my sister to come along. After we were done, we were driving around the perimeter of the park, and this little arch in the foliage over the road just spoke to me. So, yes, I will admit it. I stopped the car and asked her to get out and hit the spot with her gorgeousness.

Totally worth it. Love you Aunty Sarah!

Some family love.

Well, I know I am the world's worst blogger. I post images from about one in every 15 to 20 sessions. The ones I post are random, and I really do need to get more consistent, as Facebook just screws with the quality of the image. But here on the blog, you have the opportunity to see photos in all their glory!

The S family are friends of friends, in the swing dance scene, and feel like an extension of my own family. You know, that cousin who moved out of state that you spent that one really awesome summer with, and now email occasionally? It was like a reunion with that person. Familiar, joyful, and nothing but smiles.

Truly, not only are my clients bringing the serious cuteness these days, but they are styling themselves like pro models! I love these guys, their style, their vibe, their joy.

Thanks for a beautiful day at what is quickly becoming one of my favorite locations!

I don't even have a title for this one.

I had a dream. Literally. And in that dream was this photo of Marilyn Monroe:

I wouldn't say I'm a HUGE Marilyn fan. I do love her, I do admire and adore so many of her photos and images. I enjoy her movies. But I don't know much about her, and I certainly don't spend much time thinking about her. That's why this dream was so curious. What was even more curious was that as soon as I woke, I had a flash in my mind of my friend, professional Lindy Hop dancer, Nikki Marvin, wearing her Lindy sneakers while posing as Marilyn. Weird, right? I know. What can I say? Sometimes creativity comes from weird places in the brain.

Lucky for me, Nikki was down for the cause. She threw together a vintage outfit (all purchased at local vintage shopping mecca, Elsewhere Vintage) and spent all day doing her own hair and makeup. Commitment, people. That's why I love this woman.

Here are just a few of our impromptu shoot. Nikki does such an incredible job of capturing not just the look, but the energy and essence of what I love about the original photo. She's casual, but elegant, and even though she spent hours in hair and makeup, she looks like she just rolled out of bed looking like a superstar. I couldn't be more ecstatic.

Thank you so much, Nikki. Love.

B and A Day!

Has it really been this long since I did a B and A? Wow, guess so. Happy New Year! :D

This is a shot from yesterday's impromptu photoshoot with the amazing Megan Bibbo, highlighting the hair accessories from my new line, A Vintage Vibe.

The image on the left is straight out of the camera. Pretty darn good, if you ask me. (Thanks to Megan's killer modeling skills!)

I used Florabella's Sharpen/Defog action on the whole image, then added a tiny bit of Gaussian Blur and erased it on her face, leg, and torso. Paint The Moon's All in One action retouched the skin and popped the eyes. A little warming filter, and we were done!

The B Family

Well, my great friend Cheryl decided she needed some new family photos (who DOESN'T need new family photos?! Kids change every day!) so she booked a session with me.  You'll recognize her youngest, Nolan, from his nine month photoshoot last month.  We met at the circle at Orange, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to shoot.  (Apparently, I'm not the only one- two other photographers were hitting some of the same spots we were with their clients, too! That's ok- I can always find new and interesting little enclaves here..)  I love this family so much- not only is Cheryl a phenomenal friend, but her smile just lights up a room, her husband is so cool and genuine, and her boys are so incredibly sweet.  My own experience with my boys has been completely different.  My boys are little cavemen.  Cheryl's boys are little gentlemen.  And, those faces.  So beautiful, so expressive.  I can't get enough.  The session flew by, and I think we got some really stellar images for them.  I love shooting families with young kids- they don't try too hard.  Kids don't know about stagefright or acting a certain way.  You tell them to smile, they do.  You make a joke, they laugh.  And when no one's looking, little boys look at their mommies with pure, unabashed love.  Can't wait to see more of these guys.

Izzy

There are babies, and then there are little men.

Israel Leonidas is definitely the latter.

His mom, Claire, and I go way back to 9th grade drama together. She and I had our sons around the same time, she's always been there for me, and her husband still raves about the trail mix I brought her in the hospital when she had Izzy.

So when she asked me to do Izzy's headshots, naturally it was a yes.

We met in Old Orange, Izzy and his dad sang songs from Yo Gabba Gabba, and it could not have been any easier to get great shots of such a gorgeous boy.

I mean, little man.
