So Very Thankful.

This year has been incredibly challenging for me, as this business has taken off in ways I couldn't have imagined. I have three small children, and a husband who travels for work, which means my time is limited more than you even know. Trying to run a business, respond to the dozens of emails and inquiries I receive a day, and still give my children the time and attention they deserve has proven to be a balance that I have not yet mastered.

But I will.

I love this job, I love this art, and I am determined to become more efficient to better serve my clients and my family.

To those of you who have stuck with me, and been patient in scheduling and in receiving your products, my heart just fills with love for you. Thank you for your patience, your support, and for letting me into your lives.

As a thank you to you, who have stuck it out and waited patiently, I've decided to do ONE more mini-session day this year! Spots will be on a first come first served basis, and past clients and those who have inquired in the past will be given priority.

There will be only 6 spots available, and this will be my last portrait availability until next year.

The details will be the same as the Fall Minis:

$99 for a 15-20 minute session
2 5x7 professional prints
5 high resolution digital images
with print release

The date will be December 3rd, location to be announced.

Peas in a pod.

Susan and Mike were supposed to have a great little mini-session on the beach. We talked wardrobe, style, worked out details. And then Southern California decided to have a season. The rainy season. So, the beach was not an option.

We rescheduled, and they chose an amazing little community lake, with beautiful houses on the water, each complete with their own docks and boats. And, for our flexibility and patience, Mother Nature rewarded us with the most amazing weather I could have asked for.

These two have been married for almost five years, but if you had asked me at the end of our session, I would have guessed they were newlyweds. You know how sometimes you see a couple, and you just get it? You see why they fit. Yeah. That's these two. They have never had a professional photo session, not even on their wedding, so they figured it was time. I definitely agreed. :)

Enjoy, Susan and Mike! I hope this is just our first session together. You have some catching up to do in the photo department, and I am most happy to oblige!

The L Family Mini-Session

How am I so lucky to get the best looking families to photograph?  Good genes, I guess. (she's related to my husband! :)  )

These guys showed up, took a minute to primp, and were ready to go.  All except little Max.  He was NOT. HAVING. IT. The thing about shooting a family with four kids is, you have to build that in.  The margin for angry faces, closed eyes, tongues sticking out, and general silliness increases significantly.  There was a point where the two boys decided to demolish the sandcastle my brother had made earlier in the day.  It was hilarious to watch! Anyway, we did our best with Max, and luckily, even though he was clearly not in the mood, everyone else was happy, smiling, gorgeous, and ready.

Come on, Max!!!

Sister, Sister (Mini-Session)

These girls crack me up.  They are the biggest Angels fans, best friends, sisters, and their dynamic was overwhelming.  Not only did they sign up for the Mini-Sessions to take sister photos, but they showed up with THREE COSTUME CHANGES.  At the BEACH.

Yeah.

I love that  they wanted sister photos done- I'm doing so many family sessions, it never really crossed mymind to do a sibling-only session. I told them when they arrived:  there's a fine line when shooting sisters.  It can lean towards either sweet, sisterly love or lesbian couple.  I think we achieved the former.

One sister was quiet and reserved, the other was America's Next Top Model.  You decide which was which.

M Family Mini Sessions

The M Family was my first family of the day (after a 10:00 no-show).  These guys came relaxed and ready.  Through the whole session, Garrett (much to his older sister's chagrin) was cracking up, goofing off, and generally having a ball.  I loved it. It was a great way to break in the day.  They were up for anything, and I think we got some really great family images.  You can tell by these photos that these guys love each other. Enjoy!

Mini-Prep

Tomorrow is our first Mini-Sessions Day at Crystal Cove.  After alot of preparation, and alot of paperwork, we are READY!  I am so incredibly excited.  The location is absolutely gorgeous, the families are all phenomenal, and I can not wait to get some incredible images.

Look for an update on Sunday, folks.  You won't wanna miss it.
